For the month of January it was all about food in our infant classroom! Our theme was ‘The Restaurant’ and so we learnt all the relevant vocabulary, what role a waiter and chef had and of course what to do when you are in a restaurant such as ordering from a menu to choosing from a starter, main course and desert! During play time the children had loads of fun creating their own menus by cutting out various foods from food magazines.when they had their menus prepared they then visited the newly opened ‘Caherconlish Restaurant’ where the children could order their food and watch it being prepared and served by a waiter/waitress. The children certainly enjoyed this theme and we hope to see some future chefs in years to come!
